This boy needs to be convicted.

Anybody seen this story?

Someone who sends out 193 text messages in one day, while driving a car, and manages to negligently kill an innocent motorist needs to be taught a lesson.

The lesson needs to be administered in prison and needs to be measured in years, not months, in my opinion.

After everything that is published about driving while distracted, including quite a few states outlawing texting while driving, anyone who continues to do so must be considered willfully negligent and accountable for their actions.

In this case those actions resulted in a dead man who was doing nothing wrong.

Our society continues to foster the "All about me" philosophy which is painfully evident when you see drivers paying more attention to their cell phones that the road they are driving on.  In doing so they are saying in essence, "I don't give a shit about the safety of anyone else on this highway, my communications are more important."

While this kid is young and foolish like we all were at that age, the killing of another human being under negligent conditions needs to be answered for.  I hope they make an example out of him.

LWM out.........
